Get to know us.
As a community church we have varied church backgrounds and expressions of worship. We struggle, fall, and help each other up. We laugh, we cry, we look for God's hand both in good and difficult times. It is when the church serves with radical acts of kindness and compassion, expecting nothing in return, that we show Jesus in us most profoundly.
We desire to bring the relevancy of Jesus Christ to every generation.
MCC is affiliated with Mission Northwest - an association of ABC-NW churches resourcing and developing churches that connect people with Jesus Christ.

I grew up in Portland, OR and church was a big part of our family life. From kids' programs to youth camps, I enjoyed meeting new friends and learning about faith in Jesus. At age seven, I had already made a commitment to Jesus and decided to be baptized. My head could barely be seen over the edge of the baptismal, but I remember that day well.
Since then, I have set out to make my faith my own and had the help of some wonderful mentors throughout the years. People who took an interest in me and allowed me to see Jesus through them. Early in high school, I decided to get involved in serving in my youth group and found that I really enjoyed it. Taking a step of faith, I applied to be on staff at the church camp I grew up going to. I was 16 and it was a summer that changed everything. At this point in my life, Jesus became more than just an important part of my life, he became the reason for my life. The plans I had made for my life changed and I set my sights on serving him in my vocation. College led me to many opportunities to be in ministry,
After receiving my master's degree I was called to a church in Arizona, ministering alongside a college friend and being introduced to Kim. A year later, Kim and I were married and relocated to the northwest. We have spent time both in and out of vocational ministry but have always been closely connected to our churches.
While not employed by a church, I have spent time as a Realtor and Property Manager in the Portland area, but our real passion is for the church. We now have two daughters, Keegan and Makenna who have grown up in the various ministries we have had. We have followed God's lead when to stay, when to go, and when to wait on Him. After serving as an associate pastor in the southern part of Washington, we felt God moving in our lives to pastor a church. God led us to find Manette Community Church while he was leading them to us. We consider it such an honor to serve God and be able to be a part of MCC's tradition of furthering the Kingdom of God and serving the community.

Born in Bremerton to a loving Christian family with two older sisters. Raised on Enetai Beach next door to loving grandparents. Attended school at Manette Elementary and graduated from East Bremerton High. Graduated from the University of Washington with a BSCE, with post graduate studies in Public Administration and Advanced Concepts in Naval Engineering.
My love of God’s creation was manifested in the wonders of Puget Sound. I started sailboat racing at the age of 12 and built my first boat at the age of 13. Met the love of my life in high school at the age of 16. Barb and I were married while in college and raised three children on Bremerton’s waterfront.
During my 35-years of working as an engineer and manager for the US Navy we have lived and worked in the Far East, on the West Coast, East Coast and Gulf Coast of the US. Travel has taken us to most of Europe and Asia as well as marine travel on the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, and the Mediterranean Sea.
I was baptized at the age of 7 at Manette Community Church (MCC) and was convicted by my high school youth leader to serve Christ as a lay person. After an extended stay in the Far East, I returned to Bremerton and served on the Board of Directors of Bremerton Christian School. Also served on the Board of Deacons and Facilities Committee at MCC. Currently I facilitate the Saturday men’s Bible study and the monthly men’s breakfast. But my true ministry is to those I meet on the streets and in the parking lot, as well as those who utilize the wonderful suite of four MCC buildings. I thank our wonderful Savior for allowing me to help maintain and operate His ministry in the most beautiful place on Earth.
